Join us for prenatal yoga at the Flagstaff Birth Collective’s beautiful classroom space
every Saturday at 5:30pm
Classes are 75 minutes – please bring a yoga mat and a blanket or two, or any pillows etc that you would like to use for the savasana relaxation at the end of class. You’re also welcome to bring any yoga props such as a block or strap that you would like.
Flagstaff Prenatal Yoga classes are led by RYT Laura Brown – former director of the Flagstaff Yoga Festival.
Laura has 4 children, all of which she carried to term and had successful natural deliveries with in Flagstaff.
Laura has been a parent for 23 years, and a yoga teacher since 2007. She has breastfed for a combined 9 years of her life at this point!
Laura is also the center director and lead teacher for Music Together of Northern Arizona, where you and your new baby can attend award winning mixed age music and movement classes after your baby’s birth.
This prenatal yoga class will draw from several different yoga styles and traditions to give expectant mothers an eclectic yoga practice tailored to participant’s changing needs as they journey through their pregnancies.
Laura’s own yoga certification includes original training from senior Iyengar teachers, with CEUs in dozens of workshops and trainings ranging from Iyengar to Kundalini, and including Ashtanga, Bikram, Forrest Yoga, Yoga for Pregnancy, therapeutic yoga for scoliosis and injuries, yoga & core strengthening, and yoga for pelvic floor health.
Some of Laura’s most impactful teachers and trainers over the years include Erich Schiffmann, Angela Farmer, Vanda Scaravelli, Ana Forrest, Paul Grilley, and Elise Browning Miller.
One of the most important benefits of joining a Flagstaff prenatal yoga class is that you’ll have the chance to meet other expecting moms potentially at the same stage of pregnancy as yourself!
If you are newly pregnant, you are very welcome to attend classes even in your first trimester – but if you’re too tired or nauseous to think about class right now, that’s ok too – know that it will get better! Coming into your second trimester, you’re starting to feel your energy come back. Not only are you looking for a fitness program to stay active and healthy, but you also may be feeling social again.
A prenatal yoga class is a perfect meetup for forming a relationship with a new mom-friend with a baby the same age as yours!
